About Dalen Hotel

Nestled in the heart of Telemark, Dalen Hotel is a fairytale destination dating back to 1894. Built in the Norwegian Dragon Style, the hotel features 49 individually designed rooms, a majestic hall, historic lounges, a fine dining restaurant, and lush gardens. Over the years, Dalen Hotel has been recognized with numerous awards and continues to enchant guests with its timeless charm.

About the Role

As Housekeeping Manager, you will play a pivotal role in our management team, working closely with the Front of House Manager, F&B Manager, and Executive Chef, and reporting directly to the General Manager. You will oversee a team of 6-8 dedicated individuals, ensuring that the hotel’s common areas and guest rooms are impeccably clean and welcoming.

The position is available as a permanent role or for the 2025 season, starting February 1st. This is your chance to contribute to an unforgettable guest experience and uphold the rich traditions of Dalen Hotel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, train, and inspire the housekeeping team to deliver exceptional service.
  • Develop and implement cleaning routines and standards.
  • Oversee daily operations, ensuring cleanliness and order in guest rooms and public areas.
  • Manage scheduling in line with budget and forecast.
  • Monitor inventory and place orders for amenities and linen.
  • Perform nightly turndown service to create a warm and relaxing environment for guests.
  • Oversee our staff accommodations and follow up cleaning routines and maintenance.

  • Communicative: Strong communication skills and collaboration with other departments are key. 
  • Flexible and adaptable: You thrive in a fast-paced environment with varied tasks and hours.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with digital systems such as Visbook, Mews, and PMI by d2o.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
  • English proficiency is essential; Norwegian language skills are a plus.

Practical Information: 

The position starts on February 1, 2025.

Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

The hotel is open from mid-February to mid-December. Vacation time is primarily during the closed period.
