Clarion Hotel Helsinki Airport is looking for a Sous Chef with a passion for cooking to join our team, be a leader and help create unforgettable dining experiences for our guests. As a key member of our culinary staff, you’ll prepare delicious, high-quality dishes, contributing to menu development, and ensuring food is presented at its best.

What you'll do:

  • Preparing dishes in accordance with the procedures, routines and profitability goals that have been established.
  • Daily mise en place for banquet lunch and dinner.
  • Overseeing Meeting & Events warm food preparations.
  • Overseeing all cold food preparation, including salads, dressings, cold appetizers, charcuterie, and buffet presentations.
  • Assist the Head Chef in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and plating.
  • Assist in managing inventory, including ordering supplies, maintaining stock levels, and minimizing waste.
  • Training and managing the kitchen team efficiently.
  • Design and execute visually appealing platters and buffet setups.

This is a permanent part-time position, with about 90 average hours per 3-week rota, and a start date to be agreed upon. The position requires working varied shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.


Is this you?

  • Experienced from culinary education or formal training.
  • Experience in a similar level position with big events and dinners for a minimum of 2 years.
  • Flexible and reliable with enthusiasm for food and service.
  • Ready to take morning, evening and night shifts, and even early morning (3 am) breakfast shifts.
  • Good communicator in English.
  • Flexible and reliable with enthusiasm for food and service.
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and making decisions independently.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Turning challenges into opportunities and keeping high standards, even when things get tough.

  • Skills in Finnish language
