We are looking for a structured, engaging, and service-driven Head waiter with dedicated responsibility for our Afternoon Tea experience. Our Restaurant Concepts
At To Søstre, we present a refined take on the classic Afternoon Tea - rooted in tradition, yet inspired by Nordic flavors, seasonality and simplicity. Our menu combines elegant finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, and delicate pastries with modern, locally influenced ingredients.
With a focus on craftsmanship and presentation, each element is thoughtfully curated to reflect both heritage and innovation. The experience is is complimented by a carefully selected tea menu and a warm, sophisticated atmosphere.
TAK Oslo is our Nordic-Japanese rooftop gem, a sister restaurant to the acclaimed original in Stockholm. Here, Nordic and Japanese flavors merge, with a focus on seasonal, local, and sustainable ingredients.
Beneath TAK Restaurant is our casual cocktail bar, Izakaya. Offering a wide selection of small plates and a stunning rooftop terrace overlooking Frogner, Oslofjord, and Marka, Izakaya is a popular gathering spot.
At the heart of the hotel lies Ekspedisjonshallen, our local brasserie and all-day dining venue. From breakfast for our hotel guests to brunch, lunch, dinner, and a vibrant bar – there’s always life in Ekspedisjonshallen. Every week, the space is filled with atmospheric jazz from our house band and guest vocalists.
About the Role
As Head Waiter with responsibility for Afternoon Tea, you will play a key role in delivering one of our most distinctive guest experiences. You will act as the host and driving force behind the service, ensuring a seamless, elegant, and memorable atmosphere from start to finish.
The role combines hands-on service with planning and coordination. You will be present on the floor, leading by example, while also overseeing bookings, flow of service, and team performance. With a strong eye for detail, you ensure that every element—from presentation and timing to guest interaction—meets the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for the execution of Afternoon Tea service
Lead, motivate, and develop the service team
Ensure exceptional quality in every detail—from setup to guest experience
Plan and coordinate bookings and capacity
Train and follow up on team members
Collaborate closely with the kitchen and wider operations team
Who We’re Looking For:
Experience as a Head Waiter, Restaurant Manager, or similar role
Strong understanding of hospitality and guest experience
Highly organised, solution-oriented, and detail-focused
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work both operationally and administratively
